Service
Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society strongly endorses the concept of service to the college and the community as our scholarly responsibility. Each year our society sets a goal with a Community Partner to pursue an area of service that all Phi Theta Kappa Chapters work together to accomplish.
Our International Service Program is Conquering Cancer: Continuing the Fight. We will be working alongside the American Cancer Society to meet this initiative. Phi Theta Kappa's collaboration with the American Cancer Society for its International Service Programs focuses on four major areas:
- Prevention & Early Detection
- Advocacy
- Fundraising
- Service & Volunteerism
Leadership
The Leadership Hallmark is dedicated to encourage leadership in our chapter, campus, and community. Omicron Beta offers officer coordinator, director and committee positions for member participation.
The Leadership Team consists of five elected officers, appointed directors and coordinators, members and advisors who help guide the Omicron Beta Chapter. The team is responsible for determining the policies of the chapter according to the international organization guidelines and to be trustees of all Omicron Beta Chapter properties.
Fellowship
The Fellowship Hallmark focuses on working together as a team and encouraging unity in our college, community and other Phi Theta Kappa Chapters. It encourages us to balance our studying and work, as well as participation in community service projects.
Scholarship
The Scholarship Hallmark concentrates on implementing the Honors Study Topic, through Speaker Series Events and Satellite Seminars. The 2004-2006 Honors Study Topic is "Popular Culture: Shaping and Reflecting Who We Are."
Enhanced Membership provides the same benefits of membership provided by Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters with additional recognition from the chapter for participation in chapter activities. A student who chooses this option agrees to commit to a specific amount of activity, such as attending meetings or Honors Study Topic programs, assisting with service projects, etc., as set forth by the chapter.
