What is a Book Voucher?

A Book Voucher allows students to get their books and supplies from the MCC campus book store and have the charges applied to their student account against their financial aid, or anticipated financial aid award.  A student is eligible for a book voucher if their financial aid, or anticipated financial aid (grants, loans, scholarships) is greater than the amount of their tuition and fees.  

Book voucher charges are automatically deducted from a student's financial aid award. However, students will be required to pay Mesa Community College any amounts owed if any of the following occur:

• the student's financial aid awarded is not enough to cover the full amount of the bookstore charges
• the bookstore charges were not applied to the student's account until after their financial aid check was mailed out
• the student does not receive financial aid

 

Who is eligible for a Book Voucher?

Bookstore Vouchers will only be considered for students who:

• Students awarded grants, loans and/or scholarships in an amount that exceeds their tuition
• Students not yet awarded by January 13, but have submitted all their paperwork and show pending eligibility
• Scholarship recipients.

Note: Bookstore Vouchers are NOT available to students who do not meet the Priority Service Deadlines.

 

Book vouchers for scholarship recipients:

Students receiving a scholarship may be eligible for a book voucher if the following conditions are met:

• Your scholarship has been processed/awarded for the Spring 2010 semester, and
• You are a expecting a refund after your tuition and fees have been paid for the current semester.

You may use the remaining scholarship funds in the form of a book voucher to purchase your books at the MCC book store.  Starting on Wed you may go directly to the book store and purchase your books with your eligible refund.

 

How do I use a Bookstore Voucher?

For student who have been awarded

1. Calculate your estimated Bookstore Voucher amount by using the calculator below
2. Go directly to the MCC efollet bookstore during the specified periods indicated below
3. Select the textbooks and supplies required for enrolled classes (not valid for clothing, IPODs, cups, food items,etc...)
4. Take selected textbooks to a MCC efollett bookstore sales associate
5. Show the bookstore sales associate your picture ID and let them know that you have been awarded financial aid
6. The sales associate will have you sign a Bookstore Voucher Authorization Form 

Students who have not been awarded financial aid or a scholarship will need to come to the financial aid office to see if they are eligible for a book voucher.

 

When can I use my Bookstore Voucher?

Book Vouchers will be available between Wed., Jan. 6 through Fri., Jan. 29 for the Spring 2010 session.

Using the calculator below - follow these simple steps to determine your estimated Bookstore Voucher amount.

1. Log into your Student Center at My.maricopa.edu
2. On the bottom left hand side of the page, under Finances, click on Account Inquiry.
3. Enter your TOTAL Pending Financial Aid amount for a summer session.
4. Enter your TOTAL Outstanding Charges for the same summer session (include amounts owed for any prior terms).
5. Select your enrollment level in the summer session.
6. Click the CALCULATE button for your estimated Bookstore Voucher amount for the spring 2010 session.

NOTE: This tool is used to calculate an ESTIMATED Bookstore Voucher amount. Entering incorrect figures will result in an inaccurate amount. Changes in enrollment, financial aid eligiblity and outstanding charges may affect the actual amount you may charge (purchase) at the MCC efollett Bookstore .
