Residency for Tuition Purposes:

All students are classified for tuition purposes under one of the following residency classifications:


Residency for tuition purposes is determined in accordance with state law (A.R.S.15-1801 et seq.) and regulations of the Maricopa Community Colleges Governing Board. The process to prove your residency is detailed here. For more information on residency requirements and the criteria used, please visit the MCCCD website.

Tuition Rates:

**Please note that if an Unclassified, Out-of-County or Out-of State student enrolls in a total of 7 or more credit hours combined at any of the Maricopa Community Colleges (http://www.maricopa.edu/), the charge will be $312 per credit hour. For example if student enrolls in a 3 credit hour class at MCC and a 4 credit hour class at SCC, the total credit hours is 7. The student will be assessed $312 per credit hour at both MCC and SCC (plus applicable fees). If the student enrolls in a 3 credit hour class as MCC and a 3 credit hour class at SCC, the student is enrolled in 6 total credit hours and will be assessed $96 per credit hour (plus applicable fees). Multiple institution enrollment charges may not be assessed immediately to the student account. It is recommended that the student regularly check their student center at http://www.my.maricopa.edu or call the campus cashier office where the student is enrolled for more information.

Additional Fees:
All students pay a $15.00 registration fee per semester.
Course fees may be required for particular classes (e.g. Computer Labs, etc.) See Schedule of Classes for additional fee requirements.

Distance Learning Tuition:

  • $71.00 per credit hour for in-county residents.*
  • $71.00 per credit hour for students from Arizona counties with reciprocal agreements with Maricopa County. **
  • $215.00 per credit hour for students who reside in Apache County, Greenlee County or Santa Cruz County -- or out of state or out of country.
  • Military tuition rates are determined by the home of record for the military member.

Out of State WUE Tuition: $106.50 per credit hour (Out-of-state students participating in the Western Undergraduate Exchange Program.)
Concurrent Enrollment in Arizona Public Institutions of Higher Education (A.R.S. 15-1807)

"It is unlawful for any non-resident student to register concurrently in two or more public institutions of higher education in this state including any university, college or community college for a combined student credit hour enrollment of more than six (6) credit hours without payment of non-resident tuition at one of such institutions"

* In-county residents are those whose home of record is Maricopa County.
**Reciprocal agreements guarantee in-county tuition rates for residents of all Arizona counties except Apache, Greenlee, & Santa Cruz Counties.

  • Click the ’other financial’ drop down menu
  • Click ’Charges Due’.
