Yvonne Honeyestewa

Yvonne Honeyestewa is a member of the Comanche/Kiowa Nation in Oklahoma. She received her Bachelor's of Arts in Education from the University of Oklahoma where she majored in Human Relations and minored in Native American Studies. She is currently working on her Masters Program at Northern Arizona University in Human Relations.
During her academic career Yvonne was chosen as a McNair Scholar and did undergraduate research on "Low Post-Secondary Graduation Rates Among Native Americans" and presented her research at the University of Maryland. Since those endeavors Yvonne has a passion for helping Native American students fulfill their academic goals.
Yvonne moved to the Valley of the Sun in June of 2008 and has since worked with Native American Programs for Mesa Public Schools and is currently one of the Program Advisors for the American Indian Center here at Mesa Community College. She is also one of the Advisors to the Inter - Tribal Student Organization, the Native American Club here on campus.
