Bo Colbert
Charles "Bo" Colbert is the Director of the American Indian Center at Mesa Community College. He came to MCC in 2004. Prior to MCC, Dr. Colbert was with the American Indian Studies Program at Arizona State University. A founding member of the AIS program, Bo has been involved from 1996-2004.
Bo is an enrolled member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation in Oklahoma. Dr. Colbert received his Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and Recreation from Northeastern Oklahoma State University, a Masters Degree in Education (1978) and Doctor of Education Degree (1999) from Arizona State University. His research focus is on the college-going experience and retention theories regarding American Indian/Alaska Native students in higher education. Dr. Colbert served as the Coordinator of Native American Affairs with the Maricopa Community College District during the past academic year.
