Concurrent Students:
What is a Concurrent student? A Concurrent student is one who, while still enrolled in High School, earns Community College credits. MCC offers high school students the opportunity to get a jump start toward a college education. Students who are home schooled or who are under age 18 who have not graduated from high school and do not have a GED are classified as special admissions. To get started, follow these easy steps to be admitted as a student with special status:
- Submit a Concurrent Student Information Form
download and print the formThis form requires a parent signature and the signature of an official at the high school, junior high or elementary school you are currently attending.
- Take the Placement Tests.
Students with special status are required to completed assessment testing prior to enrollment. After testing, meet with an academic advisor to review your scores, discuss course selection and complete an Advisement/Registration Form.
- Submit the Enrollment Check List for Students with Special Status download and print the form.
Students under the age of 18 must also obtain permission in writing from the department chairperson prior to registration in a course.
Upon completion of the documents above, you are ready to register for classes and pay your tuition and fees. . Application paperwork may be submitted to the Office of Admissions & Recruitment at the Southern & Dobson campus and to Enrollment Services at the Red Mountain campus.
