ReadingAdvancing Academic Achievement

Accelerated learning techniques that foster long-term memory and comprehension. Includes multi-exposure of content, musical and art stimuli, and voice intonation and rhythm as they apply to self-study, exam taking, and the teaching process. Application of techniques that enable higher level thinking skills, lateral thinking, and creative thinking.
ESLCareer Work Experience

Participation in a work experience, gaining on-the-job training, and/or exploring a career or field of choice. Helps students relate their education to the real work world. Resume writing and interviewing skills.
ReadingChemical Dependency

Introduction to the foundations of the alcohol and drug abuse rehabilitation field. Emphasis on the roles and responsibilities of the addiction paraprofessional counselor, ethical issues, pharmacology, family dynamics, dual diagnosis, intervention techniques, self-help groups, levels of care, symptom identification, and conducting alcohol/drug histories. Interactive work stressed.
ESLCounseling & Personal Development

Designed to assist students in developing confidence in making personal, social, and educational decisions. Examination and assessment of individual needs, interests, abilities and values to develop and strengthen interpersonal communication, enhance transitional skills and identify realistic life planning goals.
