The emphasis of the Business & Information Systems Department is to provide quality academic coursework, teaching students with marketable skills that are responsive to the current needs of a variety of workplace settings, and to prepare students to transfer to a four-year university.



AccountingAccounting

Accounting is the measurement, statement, or provision of assurance about financial information primarily used by managers, investors, tax authorities and other decision makers to make resource allocation decisions within companies, organizations, and public agencies. The terms derive from the use of financial accounts.
Business Management Business Management

The intent of the program in business management is to provide students with a basic inventory of skills and competencies that will meet their needs when they become practitioners in the field. Recognizing that many persons already involved in business and industry desire to improve their skills, the program also seeks to offer alternative for the increase of knowledge and the improvement of skills by current practitioners in the field.
B&IBusiness & Industry Institute & Corporate Training

Mesa Community College's Business & Industry Institute offers training, degree programs, and certification pathways in Network Administration, Programming, Database Technologies, Fiber Optics, Information Assurance, Home Technology Integrator and Work Place Skills. Real Estate and Appraisal, Training formats include fast tracks, traditional semesters, distance learning, and internet courses..
Business Personal Computers Business & Personal Computers

Our Business and Personal Computer classes provide an entry level instruction to students with little familiary with computers and operting systems. Classes are designed to provide competence in basic computer use, understanding of software programs, and allow students to move confidently forward for more in-depth tecnology education.
Computer Information SystemsComputer Information Systems

Computer Information Systems included instruction in computer use, technical support, Internet protocols, and all aspects of network operations. Students interested in a career in the gaming, virtual reality, network security or programming fields will find curriculum for all levels of skill and interest.
Entrepeneur Studies Entrepreneur Studies

Students enrolled in the Small Business Entrepreneurship program will acquire the skills, tools and knowledge necessary for successful start-up and operations of a profit-making business. Emphasis is placed on evaluating potential business opportunities, developing a business plan, and practical application of small business operating principles. Students develop a foundation of business start-up strategies and practices that will enable them to prosper in the ever-changing small business environment.
Fashion MerchandisingFashion Merchandising & Design

Fashion Design, Merchandising, and Retailing today are in need of well trained executives. That means college educated professionals at the community college level and beyond will be able to fill this need. At MCC we are committed to student education, internships and the transfer process to major universities so that students can achieve their goals. General Business General Business

This program meets the needs of students who wish a broad overview of business and desire not to enroll in a specialized curriculum in business. The program is designed to acquaint students with major subject areas of business, to improve the student's business vocabulary, and to provide students with an understanding of influencing factors in business decision making and activities. In addition, this program could aid a student in recognizing a specific business field to be pursued in future studies. Although many courses will transfer to a four-year institution, some courses do not. This curriculum is not designed to meet the needs of students who wish to transfer to a four-year institution.

International BusinessInternational Business

The international business program is an interdisciplinary, district-wide, program offering flexible options for individuals preparing for entry and mid-level positions as well as those seeking advancement at the management level.

Office AutomationOffice Automation

Course offered in Office Automation seek to develop and improve the use of typing and keyboarding skills as well as the use of basic office machinery.
Real EstateReal Estate

This program is designed for students who plan to enter the real estate profession. The program includes an in-depth exposure to (but not limited to) real estate principles, practices, appraisals, and sales. Students planning to follow this curriculum should become familiar with the provisions of the real estate codes and with the license(s) required.
Small BusinessSmall Business

In-depth analysis of and individual plan development for the "day-to-day" problems encountered in the operation of a small business. Includes the development of an individual business operations plan including finance, purchasing, production scheduling, maintenance, shipping/receiving, personnel management and insurance/risk management requirements. Investigation of daily problems related to inventory control and business expansion
Total Quality ManagementTotal Quality Management (TQM)

This program prepares students to be competitive in today's domestic and global economies. It provides the student quality management theories and skills to better serve both internal and external customers. The emphasis is on practical application of skills and knowledge.
