What IS Urban Horticulture?

Urban Horticulture is the production, cultivation and management of plants used for interior and exterior landscaping, including trees, shrubs, ground covers, and flowers; as well as the production of vegetables and fruit for residential properties; and includes turf grass management for golf courses, athletic fields and public recreation spaces.

What IS Agribusiness?

Our Agribusiness program includes Pest Management, Animal Science, and general agribusiness which includes the production and managment of livestock, the commerical use of pesticides for urban spaces, with the ability to find employment with government agencies such as USDA, AZ Game and Fish and similar agencies.

What are my job prospects when I complete the program?

Graduates can own their own small business, or work for other companies performing landscape design & installation, greenhouse and nursery managment, landscape managment, golf course and public recreational space facilities managment. Graduates may find employement on dairy farms or within the meat processing industry or as buyers/managers of produce or meat departments of grocery stores.

How long does it take to complete the program?

An AA transfer degree is comprised of 64 credits - most students complete this in two years (4 semesters) of full time school attendance.

Can I continue and get a Bachelor's Degree?

Yes. Locally, you can transfer to the Arizona State University East campus (ASU East) and continue the program at the Morrison School of Agribusiness. visit their website.

Where do my classes transfer to?
