Colleen Norris has worked in the Business Dept for 13 years,
the past 5 years as the Administrative Secretary. According to Colleen,
her current student helpers are “the best ever”. Pictured behind Colleen

Colleen is a native Arizonan and a graduate of Mesa Westwood High. She studied Nursing at Maricopa Tech (now Gateway CC) and worked at Mesa Lutheran Hospital. She later studied at MCC and graduated with an AA degree in Office Automation. Way to go, Colleen!
Last year, Colleen was awarded the PSA Award of Outstanding Professional Excellence for her dedication and quality service. She enjoys movies, reading, sewing and ceramics. Colleen and her late husband, John, used to ride motorcycles on day trips up into the mountains. Colleen loves to travel and hopes to do more of it someday. Her favorite recent trip was a cruise to Alaska 2 years ago.
Colleen makes her home in Mesa. Her daughter Dawn is a student here at MCC. Colleen loves working with all the faculty, staff and students and appreciates the variety of activities required of her job.
Mariam Ghatas is a freshman Aerospace Engineering student. She hopes to work for NASA someday. She likes tennis, computers, making new friends and traveling all over the world. She is from Egypt, and is planning a trip to China this summer.
Denise Brigham is studying Administration of Justice and hopes to combine that with a career in Anthropology or Forensics. She loves to draw, practice martial arts, and decorate her home. She also likes to belly dance. Denise, her 3 children and her fiancée make their home in Chandler. She plans to marry in the fall of 2005.
Atanaz Zargarizadeh, a native of Iran, has been with the Business Dept for nearly 2 years. She hopes to be a Pharmacist and has narrowed her choices to UofA, Oregon or Cal Berkley. She spends most of her spare time studying, and loves catsup on her pizza.
Amarilis Rivera is in her 2nd year in Administration of Justice. She plans to continue her studies in Victimology, possibly at UCLA or Cal State Fresno. She enjoys reading, afternoons at the park, and spending time with her 2 children. She also enjoys making homemade crafts.
