Volunteers make the difference

Mesa Community College along with the Mesa-East Valley Rose Society formed a unique partnership as the answer to a challenge unknowingly issued by a group of visiting architects. These architects had described the MCC Dobson and Southern campus "..as a group of brown buildings in a sea of asphalt.."

All of this has been made possible through the volunteer effort of the Rosarians and the community. Businesses have donated supplies, materials, labor, and dollars to the project. Individuals have sponsored rosebeds and tree clusters.

Students, church groups, and families have spent hours, days, and weekends working in the Garden, planting and caring for the roses under the guidance of Rose Society members.
