JEFF FORE • Athletic Director

Jeff Fore, a veteran of 20 years in coaching and athletic administration as the high school, college, and professional level, has joined Mesa Community College as Director of Athletics as of June 16, 2008.

Fore began his career in 1988 as an assistant basketball coach at his alma mater Arkansas State. From 1990-1993, he was an assistant basketball coach at NCAA Division II Central Missouri, where they were 27-5 and made a trip to the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA National Tournament. In 1993, Fore became assistant athletic director and head coach of the men's basketball team at Clarke College. In addition, he was also the interim baseball coach during the 1994 campaign. He also served as head men's golf coach during his final two years at Clarke. Following the 1996 season, Fore took his coaching and administrative experience overseas becoming the General Manager and head basketball coach of Kuwait Sporting Club. Following two league titles, several international gold medals, and an appearance in the GCC club championship, Fore moved to the Kuwait National Team. During his tenure with the Kuwait National Team, the team became GCC Champs, participated in the Asian Championships and finished sixth in the 2000 Olympic qualifying tournament in Fukaoka, Japan, losing to eventual champion China in the quarterfinals. That China team was led by then 18-year-old phenom Yao Ming.

Upon returning from Kuwait in 2000, Fore became General Manager of All-Star Fitness in downtown Seattle, Washington prior to purchasing The Workout Company in Phoenix, Arizona. After being away from coaching for a few years, Fore took over as Athletic Director and head basketball coach at James Sandoval Prep in 2005. During that season, his team won its last 19 games on their way to winning the Division II charter school state championship. In 2006, Fore was given the task of starting a basketball program at Valley Vista High School in Surprise, Arizona. This past season, the team's first as a varsity 5AII program, the team went 5-5 in their last ten to finish in fourth place in the Northwest Region. In addition, Fore chaired the Science Department and coached the boy's tennis team.

The Rolla, Missouri native and his wife Shannon, who is a history and psychology teacher at Valley Vista High School and former MCC student, have four children. Cameron is 17, Justin is 12, Zachary is eight, Preston is 18 months, and the couple is expecting their fifth this June.
